Learning Intention #1:
Teacher professionalism is a lifelong process that requires collaboration, reflective practice, and a growth mindset. Aspects of professionalism also include attendance, punctuality, responsibility for learning, inclusive language, ethics and integrity.
I chose my self reflection/assessment from the end of my collaborative teaching practicum during my final year as demonstration of having met the above learning intention. I feel this document thoroughly illustrates my reflective practice, growth mindset, and overall professionalism.
In writing this self assessment I really tried to think through the experiences that I had had during my practicum and then reflect on my overall teaching practice. I also tried to write as honestly and openly as I could. I felt that it was important to not only celebrate what I was doing well, but also really consider the areas in need of further development. After my final conference with my practicum supervisor and instructor I noticed that I my assessment was really quite similar to their observations and reports, which brought me confidence in my reflective practice. |
