Volunteer Experience
As a part of my professional growth and development, I felt that I could gain relevant experience and knowledge as both an individual and a professional by volunteering in my community.
March 2013 to December 2015 - Volunteered as a Child Minder at the Cowichan Aquatic Centre, where I provided child care for parents/guardians while they use the facility.
November 2014 to June 2015 - Volunteered as an In-School Mentor for Big Brothers Big Sisters, where I spent one hour each week with a 'little buddy' in hopes of making a positive difference in his or her life.
September 2015 to May 2016 - Secretary for VIU's Club Ed, where I was responsible for taking each meeting's minutes. As a member of Club Ed. I also arranged the majority of professional development for the Education students.
October 2015 to May 2016 - Member of the Dean's Student Advisory Council, where we met to discuss topics pertaining to the Education Program.
